Questions About Joining?

Question.  Is there a fee, cost or donation required to register to become a Friend of the Center for Canine Behavior Studies?

Answer.  No. Becoming a Friend of the Center is free. However, as you learn about the Center’s mission and objectives, we hope you will contribute to support its operations and studies.

Question.  Do I have to register a dog to be a member?

Answer.  No. Anyone can register to be a Friend of the Center, even if they don’t have a dog.

Question.  Do I need to be registered to participate in a study?

Answer.  Yes. You must be registered to participate in a study. By registering and providing vital information about your dog(s) significantly enhances our ability to identify a more specific cohort of dogs and owners and invite them to participate in a specific study.

Question. If I register a dog(s), must I participate in a study?

Answer.  No. While you may receive an email invitation to participate in a study, your decision to participate is purely voluntary.

Question.  Why should I participate in a study?

Answer.  There are many reasons, but the most important one is that you can help the Center find solutions that will help reduce the annual killing of millions of dogs—not just in the U.S. but in different parts of the world as well.

Question.  If I register more than one dog and want to participate in a study, do all of my dogs have to participate in a study?

​Answer.  No. If you choose to participate and have more than one dog registered, you can select which dog(s) you want to include in a study.

Question.  Can I Un-Friend the Center at any time?

Answer.  Yes. Registration and being a Friend is purely voluntary. You can un-friend the Center at any time by simply clicking on the “Unsubscribe” button.

Question.  Can I delete my dog from CCBS, or a specific dog if I have more than one registered?

Answer.  Yes, you can delete any dog at any time from the program while maintaining your Friendship with the Center.

Question.  Is the Center for Canine Behavior Studies is a 501(c)(3) corporation?

Answer.  YES. CCBS, Inc. is a Connecticut Non Profit Non Stock corporation that received its IRS Designation on July 17, 2018 as a public 501(c)(3).

Question.  How do I designate a contribution?

Answer.  Donations made online through PayPal will go directly to The Center for Canine Behavior Studies, Inc. Contributions made by check should clearly state Center for Canine Behavior Studies, Inc.

Question.  Can I volunteer to help?

Answer.  Absolutely. We rely upon volunteers to be successful. If you're interested, please Contact us.

The Center for Canine Behavior Studies has a variety of needs. Everyone helps if they promote the Center through their own various social media to encourage dog owners anywhere in the world to register as a Friend of the Center—and especially to participate in a study.
